Fernando de Noronha, a volcanic archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, 360km out from the coast of Brazil near Natal. It is composed of 21 islands but only the main one is the habited with 3,012 people. Tourists from all over the world go to visit since it was named World Heritage Site by Unesco because of its marine life. As 70% of the island is a National Maritime Park, you can be charged various fees during your stay to visit the majority of the beaches and do other activities. It is all worth it when you get to see the well preserved and hard to reach beaches, the amazing flora, fauna and swim beside a pod of dolphines.
Fernando de Noronha became a popular destination for surfers, adventure seakers and nature lovers. The island has a strict limit of habitants per day and prevents massive tourism with only two flights a day coming in from Natal or Recife.
